                                                                                                  Two many tables were crowded together, and the noise level was miserable. People at other tables close to us were literally SHOUTING across the table to each other. We had difficulty being heard even by the person next to us. My husband & I had eaten at 2 John’s several times before & recommended it to the friends who came with us — 3 other couples — and we were all celebrating our anniversaries. I got the sea bass special, and the shrimp was tough and rubbery. The sea bass was ok, but I couldn’t detect the sauce that was supposed to be on it bc it had all soaked down in the potatoes under it. The wedge salad was good. My husband had the snapper pontchartrain and it was not the exceptional dish expected. Two of our friends got the steak au poivre, and she let me taste it and it was delicious. Others made no comment. We didn’t get dessert because we couldn’t wait to get out of there! It was anything BUT a fine dining experience! The waitstaff were all pleasant and did a good job despite their very difficult working conditions. I greatly regret recommending 2 John’s to our best friends and driving an hour to get there. We won’t be back.

                                                                                                  Had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner. Everyone’s steak was cooked perfectly. Sides were spot on. Drinks were good and service was on point. Glad we finally got to try it while in town.

                                                                                                  Overall, I was disappointed with our trip to 2Johns. It was our 15th anniversary, and I was expecting it to be a lot better. While some of the dishes were good (the scampi and crab au gratin), the others were lacking. The NY Strip was cooked well, but it had a LOT of fat. I paid $68 for 16oz of steak and had to cut off at least 6 oz of inedible fat (probably more, I felt like it was more hard fat than steak). That was super disappointing. The salad I got (Caesar) was okay, but the lettuce was wilted and soggy. When I order something with "crisp romaine hearts" I expect them to be...well, crisp. The whipped potatoes were okay, but definitely not worth $10 for a side. I'm sad that this wasn't what everyone made it out to be. I'm also upset that we spent so much money on a sub-par meal. We don't have that much money to spend on meals normally, but since it was a big anniversary we wanted to splurge and I regret it. I love a good steak, and this was not it.

                                                                                                  Fried green tomatoe salad was not good all the lettuce was white with brown edges sent it back, crab cakes were just ok, steak au poivre was delish best I’ve ever had! Snapper Hollis ok the crawfish risotto was great! Was never given a drink menu , I asked for after seeing folks with specialty martinis ( this was after our meal) and also asked for the dessert menu and ordered one to go! Expected a lot more for a steak house.

                                                                                                  As always the service was extraordinary. The food was delicious. The holiday ambience was as expected - the room was full and everyone was having an awesome time!

                                                                                                  One of the most amazing dinners I’ve ever had. Although it was on the pricy side (table of 4 with tip signed out at $500) it was totally worth it. Not something we do regularly but when we do go, it’s always an awesome experience.
