   801 is the best steak house in St. Louis. It’s always a 5star experience. I had the Australian Wagyu last night. It was the best steak I ever had in my life.

   A very average experience for what should have been a much better dinner experience. The waiter was only moderately attentive and took too long to take our order, the food arrived slowly and our steaks were really delayed. I asked the waiter to check on our steaks and the manager returned telling us they over cooked one of our steaks. This is fine if it was the only delay but the whole meal took way too long. I ordered the dry aged NY strip and it was not worth the price. It honestly tasted like a choice cut. I cook my own prime and Australian wagyu cuts at home and mine are much better. The manager did comp us for the appetizers which was nice but over all I would have rather paid full price for a great steak dinner and this was not that. It’s my third time there and two of the times it’s just been average. I won’t be returning.

   Everything was delicious. Great service and friendly. The ambience was perfect and had a very nice birthday. They went out of their way to make my friend’s birthday enjoyable and she felt special.
