   Had stumbled across this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere to eat on a Saturday night during the summer but they were very full so expected some of the same. Was surprised it wasn't that busy. Lovely New England style décor however lighting is slightly too bright. The scallops & pork belly starter are to die for, however I had the salmon with herb mash which contained lumps but that was the downside and they did offer to change it. Will definitely go again

   We chose this restaurant on the basis of other reviews and wanting somewhere local to go. Service was very slow and although the young girl was polite she was clearly very inexperienced and knew nothing about the menu. Our first choice from the menu was not available so 3 of us had to choose an alternative. The goats cheese and beetroot tarts were cold and tasted burnt. We felt the food was expensive and of low quality. We had a long wait for our food and got the impression they were understaffed in the kitchen. We will not be going back!

   Fabulous food and service and general ambience. A notch above other restaurants in the area. We have been several times since we moved to the area. I do hope they don't just become a steak restaurant which has been rumoured.

   This was our second visit and we chose to share the chateau briand steak which we highly recommend .

   Aboyne House restaurant does a good job in looking at adding chef specials to a solid menu. Our food tonight was good. Ambiance marked down as the piped music was terrible!

   Myself and two friends enjoyed a meal at this restaurant. The food was hot and nicely displayed. The downside was we had to wait quite a while for it to be cooked but at least it was fresh. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.

   Another amazing meal here, took some family here for first time and they loved it and would come again when next down from yorkshire.

   We were traveling by coach to play bowls. I had pre booked the table for 7. The coach had a problem. I phoned the restaurant and explained they were very accommodating. We arrived an hour late and 12 of us eat there all enjoyed our meal.

   We were on holiday and had passed the restaurant whilst walking the high street. Ordered the Chateau-briand and it was excellent and a really nice sized portion. Served correctly and came with side dishes included rather than having to pay for extras. Very nice bottle of Brouilly to accompany the beef.

    Excellent friendly service,great food. We have been here several times since moving locally and have brought friends. Never disappointed , and recommend highly.
