Afternoon Tea & Atrium Cocktails

Afternoon Tea, a decades-long tradition at The Brown Palace, is set amid the historic grandeur of the Atrium Lobby serenaded by a melodic piano. Guests enjoy a pot of properly brewed English tea accompanied by scones served with Devonshire cream and preserves, savory tea sandwiches, and a delightful array of classic tea pastries.

Atrium Cocktails are on Friday & Saturday evenings, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm and select nights throughout the week. Sip on classic cocktails, wine, or a refreshing pint with charcuterie and other inventive dishes. Live music by The John Kite Jazz Quartet will complete an unforgettable and lively experience.

Guests enjoy a pot of properly brewed English tea accompanied by scones served with Devonshire cream and preserves, savory tea sandwiches, and a delightful array of classic tea pastries.

$10.00 per person for Vegan and / or Gluten- Free. Parties of five or more, please choose a maximum of three teas. Complimentary second plate of sandwiches included. Twenty percent gratuity will be added for parties of five or more. We will not accept more than three credit cards per party, and the check will be split evenly.

I booked afternoon tea at the Brown Palace after hearing how great of an experience it was and how it was such a fun holiday activity. It was myself , my mom, my sister and a family friend. While my mom and family friend arrived late due to some complications with wheelchair access, my sister and I weren’t even greeted at the table for almost 30 mins. Once we placed our tea order it also took incredibly long to get our tea (~10 mins). Once we finished our server brought our check at which point once we put a card it was another 15 mins trying to flag someone to pick it up and then 20 minutes trying to get someone’s attention to bring back the check after running the card. Not nearly the level of service expected. Now about our server specifically, she was very short with us to the point that it was rude, we felt completely ignored, she didn’t offer any information as to what comes with the tea or ask if we had been before or anything. We’d try to ask her something but before we could get half a sentence out she was onto the next table already. She didn’t make eye contact and appeared to not even be paying attention to us while at our table. It did not appear that they were understaffed or anything either that could help explain this. I will never recommend the Brown Palace after this experience, just not even close to worth it. I had thought this might become an annual tradition, but absolutely not after such a terrible experience.

Service was excellent. And the decor and ambience was wonderful. Great holiday event with the family.

The staff were kind and respectful. The food and wine were delicious, and the pianist was incredibly talented. A perfect afternoon.

Just wonderful! The ambience cannot be beat. Perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. We absolutely loved it!

We had a fantastic experience with the hostess, Lynn. There was a mix up with our booking and instead of disappointing my 12 and 8 year old children Lynn went above and beyond to find us a table. The atmosphere was beautiful. Our seats were just next to the hostess stand and unfortunately there was some clutter. It wasn't as festive as the rest of the restaurant. Our table and a few others near by didn't quite get as nice of a view as others. The Christmas tea was delicious as were the scones and tea sandwiches. Our waiter wasn't as warm as the rest of the staff we interacted with. Overall we had a great experience.

Service was not great We went 2x and service was slow and did not make it feel like it was a special experience I have been going for decades and never experienced this level of poor service Waitress and hostess Also 32 dollars to valet for an hour or two??
