Over the years we've twice been awarded the Open Table Top 100 in the US restaurant designation and in 2018, Southern Living Magazine named us one of the Ten Most Romantic Restaurants in the South. Focusing on superb ingredients; fish, seafood, prime quality Virginia aged meats, and locally sourced organic produce, our cuisine showcases years of collaboration among some of the most talented chefs of our region. Built in the 1880s as Roanoke's first office supply company, our vintage building has been transformed into a retro chic rendition of the classic urban restaurants of our great culinary cities. We had dinner on a Thursday night instead of our typical weekend dinner. The experience was great. Service (Kelly), ambiance, and food (scallops) were all outstanding as usual. It was nice to be downtown with less traffic and so much more relaxing. Definitely recommend a midweek dinner!

I love Alexander’s. The staff feel like friends. The food is wonderful. And you can have a conversation without having to shout. It’s my favorite restaurant in Roanone. 5 stars!

The crab cakes are always so moist and the salsa & lemon/butter sauce just put it over the top. The shrimp etouffee was also amazing as were the vegetables that came with it. Nothing was ordinary.

The service was exceptional with a feel of a classic old school fine dining experience but a menu that is contemporary and well executed. The wait staff are very attentive and the food was excellent!
