2022 marks Ashten's 25th year of bringing locally sourced, creatively prepared food to guests. Owner, Ashley Van Camp, and award winning chef, Matthew Hannon, work with area farmers daily to procure the best that the Sandhills and North Carolina have to offer. Step into our elegant Dining Room or into the cozy atmosphere of The Pub for a farm-to-table experience. Private dining for groups of 6 to 22 is available on our lower level, as well as outdoor dining, weather permitting. Takeout is also available. Come discover why Ashten's has been a mainstay of downtown Southern Pines dining for a quarter of a century.

Great dining and service experience. Food was A+. Service was lovely. Areas where they might improve… more extensive moderately priced wines and coffee was okay.

This isn't my first Ashtens review and it won't be my last. We are regulars who bring out of town guests here every opportunity we have. We also go with local friends and it's even our favorite date night place! Gracie was our server tonight. She is an exceptional server and is just the sweetest thing ever! We ate our usual - Ashtens salad, Verlasso Salmon, and Crispy Duck. Our food was prepared perfectly - something we never question when coming here. You guys never disappoint! Kudos Ashtens! We love your restaurant, the staff is warm and welcoming, and we'll see you again soon! Lori & Steve

We are from out of town and LOVE eating at Ashten’s, Chef Matt uses local ingredients and flavors pack a punch. We had great service and loved all of the dishes we had.

My wife and I have been enjoying Ashten’s since our first date about 15 years ago. The food, ambiance and service has never disappointed. We recommend Ashten’s with 5 stars.

We introduced out of town guests with plans to move to Southern Pines to restaurant. As usual, Ashten’s never disappoints. The duck was fabulous as always, and two in our party thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass special. Freshly sourced ingredients are the mantra here, and we’ve never had a bad experience. Without question, our favorite fine dining option in the Sandhills.

Great food. Chocolate cake was a touch dry and the salt was a little over the top on the salted caramel. Steak was great/ duck phenomenal/ and tuna tartare a great starter

The food and drinks were outstanding and by far one of the best meals we have had in the area. The service was surprisingly very poor. We had reservations for the dining room and were a bit surprised at the cramped space. We had to wait for menus to be brought after a few minutes even though we were right next to the hostess stand, we were never informed of food or drink specials for the evening (we asked when the waitress eventually came to take our entree order), and there was quite a bit of delay between courses. The delay was not really bothersome as we were enjoying our evening but for some I could see that being off putting. Given the price point of the restaurant the service was a big enough frustration that we would think twice before coming back. Perhaps we will try sitting in the pub next time and seeing if that makes for a better overall dining experience.
