We were disappointed there was no buffet for Easter Sunday. Also not once did our server replenish our water at our table. Also, I asked for a side of raw onions to put on my turkey sandwich and all the kitchen would offer me is cooked onions or an onion relish, which was not what I wanted on my fresh turkey avocado sandwich first world problems I know, but I live on a fixed income. I don’t get to eat out very often and I was trying to treat my family to something nice that ended up not being very nice at all.

The reboot of Bambara is a very good one. Service is spot-on and the restaurant retains its quirky elegance. We had brunch, which was solid, but fairly uninspired. The food was well-made, but not particularly creative. I believe their dinner menu is more interesting. Prices were reasonable for the quality and ambience.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and our waiter was great. The food just wasn’t that good. Gnocchi was claggy and dense, sauce was over reduced and salty. Scallops were cooked well, but the romesco sauce over powered the subtle flavor of the scallop, and the addition of nuts competed with both.

During our first visit to Salt Lake City, we had the pleasure of dining at Bambara, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a thoughtful touch—a personalized card signed by the staff, wishing us a happy anniversary. It was a wonderful gesture that set the tone for an unforgettable evening. We ordered the duck and the elk, and both dishes were absolutely fantastic. The duck was perfectly cooked, with a rich, savory flavor that melted in your mouth, while the elk was tender and packed with a depth of flavor. Each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Overall, our experience at Bambara was outstanding. The combination of thoughtful service, incredible food, and warm atmosphere made it a dining experience we’ll remember fondly. If you’re ever in Salt Lake City, we highly recommend paying them a visit—you won’t be disappointed!
