At Barbareño we seek to help further shape and define Central Coast cuisine. We take our inspiration from traditions and specialties of our area, delicacies unique to our region, and the many outstanding purveyors with whom we are so fortunate to work. In all of our efforts, we hope to capture the essence of a particular place or local flavor, embracing the nuances that make our food and drink unique to our home.

                                          Servizio sbrigativo e poco attento. Ci hanno portato la lista dei dolci e chiesto di ordinare quando uno dei commensali non aveva ancora finito il secondo. E’ arrivata una seconda bottiglia d’acqua non richiesta. Il tavolo da noi richiesto ci è stato negato dicendo che era prenotato, quando in realtà non è mai arrivato nessuno. Non ci tornerei

                                          The team at Barbareño was so lovely! Thank you for making my husband feel special on his birthday. We enjoyed their signature Santa Maria BBQ platter the most of anything we ordered and their homemade sourdough is out of this world delicious.

                                          This is a terrific place for many reasons, starting with a location that's off State St. and not engulfed in intoxicated foot traffic. The food is very inventive and careful with concepts and ingredients. The staff is unified in friendliness and preparation to serve food that may very well evoke questions from diners. Wine list is fantastic. We return to Barbareño over and over for occasions and just a great meal anytime. My only knock would be that the menu seems a bit static. There are plenty of delights to savor, but things change very seldom. It is not pretentious in the slightest, but perhaps could be somewhat more ambitious.

                                          Usually get the hamburger, which I love, so decided to try the fish this time and it was delicious as well. Loved the entire dish with mashed yams and sweet Pea sauce. Beautiful presentation Also love the beet salad. You can’t go wrong with Barbareno😍

                                          The service was excellent. The food was wonderful. The ambiance is perfect. The outside heaters do their job perfectly. Who could ask for anything more?

                                          Service was great! We loved our waiter. Food was delicious, especially the Santa Maria BBQ! The tritip melted in your mouth! Bread and spread could have used a couple of more slices of bread for the spreads they gave you. Still delicious, and homemade butter, *chef’s kiss*
