Beatrix is a neighborhood coffeehouse, restaurant and meeting place in Chicago’s River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook neighborhoods. The restaurant was created by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises’ Founder Rich Melman, Executive Partner and Divisional President Marc Jacobs and Chef Partners John Chiakulas, Rita Dever and Susan Weaver.

The menu features healthy meets delicious options, and is known for its iconic coffee and bakery counter including signature cookies, in-house pastry favorites and house blends from our very own, Beatrix Coffee Roasters.

Beatrix is open daily for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

                                                                      Shashouka egg breakfast was one of the best things I’ve eaten. I could die happy with that as a last meal. My first visit here, can’t wait to work through the menu. Service and drinks were great. Also, the egg and breakfast sandwich was, chefs kiss 🤌🏾

                                                                      We were a big group of 10 and everyone enjoyed the food and drinks. The popular entrees were the mushroom teriyaki bowl, mushroom and lentil burger and chicken Bebe. Ambiance was lovely. Our server was good but it was strange that she had us pass drinks down the table when serving them instead of walking around. Other than that, the food order was correct, even with small modifications. We had a wonderful experience and would absolutely go back.

                                                                      Our server was WONDERFUL! I made a couple of substitution requests and I never felt as though that was an inconvenience for anyone. In fact, she actually praised my choice (I asked to make their iced raspberry mocha into a cocktail by adding a shot of vodka -highly recommend for a Sunday brunch cocktail!) The food was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly!

                                                                      While it was a Saturday night, the restaurant didn't feel that crowded. Our reservation was for 6:15pm. The food and ambiance was good, as usual. However the service was either very slow or missing at certain points. We waited awhile to get utensils twice, they didn't ask if we wanted dessert (we did). And they didn't apologize for the uneven service. I was very surprised by this, as all of my meals at Beatrix have been great in the past, no worries. But something was off this evening, and I think it may be understaffing or inexperienced servers. I can understand some delays, usually the waitstaff will apologize for that, but instead made excuses. I don't think that works in hospitality. Some training may be needed. I hope you bring back the shortrib with the polenta, as the way it's prepared now felt too sweet and didn't enjoy the brussels sprouts - could be cooked more, or better yet crispy! I love that you have many options on your GF menu, that is rare! Bravo!

                                                                      I had a great time here for my birthday dinner! My server was very attentive and willing to make substitutions on my meal at my request. I can’t recommend the sticky cauliflower appetizer enough, we had to order another of it! Very cute ambience as well.
