In every city, there is a natural gathering spot for city folk and neighborhood people in the know. This place in Saint Paul is know as Bennett's Chop & Railhouse. Located on West Seventh & Victoria, it is the perfect meeting place of uptown and downtown, of quiet neighborhood and big city lights.

It's called a chophouse because it specializes in a casual steakhouse atmosphere with top-of-the-line cuts of the finest meats. It is a Rail-house because it is on the old railroad line serving the city and rail drinks (as well as top brands) are served in the convivial atmosphere of the horseshoe bar.

And of course Bennett's is Bennett's because owners Joe and Meghan Bennett ensure that welcoming hospitality is always served. They have taken their decades of experiences with leading hospitality brands and translated it into an intimate venue where you're not only a customer, but more importantly, a welcome guest.

From the outside, Bennetts is very unassuming. It looks like a corner neighborhood bar, which it is, but inside it has everything you would get from a more elite restaurant. First of all, the service we had last night was spectacular! Jessica was friendly, helpful, accommodating and efficient. The drinks were good, the ribs were fantastic and served with a salad of sliced Brussels sprouts? Delicious! White tablecloths are a nice touch. The menu is huge and on most Mondays they have half price apps and martinis. They do not have the deal on event nights. They have a bus to drive concert or sporting events attendees to the Xcel. Great value and a fun evening. I highly recommend!

An amazing old line steakhouse. Great staff. When full, it can be a bit noisy. Very good food. A neighborhood charmer.

We were really excited to eat here and celebrate my sons birthday. Made reservations, had to wait 30 minutes to sit at our table; we asked for water, had to get up and get it ourselves. Server didn't take our drink or app order for 20 minutes; appetizer finally came, but we had no silverware or napkins. Our meal finally came, after we had been waiting for yet another 25 minutes. Food was good, but by the time it finally came we were so annoyed with the bad service it was tough to enjoy. We do want to come back and maybe sit at the bar,not at a table again.

Best dining experience in a while for us. We ordered the medallions, tomahawk steak, lobster tail, and crab legs. Everything was delicious, the juke box was juking, and the service was top tier 🥰 oh and the Rueben egg rolls were amazing 🤤

I love the ambiance here! I had a reservation on Valentines Day and the hostesses were so sweet and kind when seating us. The sever, Jessica was so beautiful and funny! She was very attentive and proactive. The mocktail I ordered was phenomenal, they have amazing bartenders! Spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and highly recommended. Food came out quickly and while we were waiting, another server, Emma, checked in on us and was so silly, I love her! Chicken sandwiches are wonderful and the fries are out of this world! Our server recommended the barbecue sauce with them. Desert was also yummy and a good portion. It was all reasonably priced as well. I will be coming in to dine again!!

Cool, old school, place with really good food. The only negative was it took a long time to get our meals. We saw that though the entire restaurant. However, we will likely go back for the food and the friendly staff.

Met friends at Bennett’s for dinner. It was our first time there but the friends had been there before. It’s always nice to visit old neighborhood establishments that have the charm of many years of experience. The food was delicious, the service great and the ambiance very comfortable, which made for a very pleasant evening.

This was one of the absolute best dining experiences we've had in recent memory. The food, drinks and atmosphere were fantastic and Meghan (co-owner) serving us made the evening unforgettable!❤️😁
