   I was there for a birthday mid week lunch and the restaurant was relatively quiet, particularly where we settled into a back room booth. The service was excellent and non-intrusive with a friendly ambience. We shared mussels followed by fish tacos and the food was well prepared, creative and delicious . Always a pleasurable experience to go to Blacksalt. We will return for a dinner.

   while i have found black salt a bit uneven at times last night they were at the top of their game. the service was welcoming and very competent; the seafood salad appetizer perfectly fresh and beautifully presented; the salmon main was cooked exactly as requested and was also delicion

   We love Black Salt and eat here as often as possible. Any time we are a group of 4 or less, assuming Will is working, we ask to sit up front with him! Will has the best demeanor, is always very welcoming, and is super knowledgeable about the menu (including cocktails and any specials), and his recommendations never disappoint! Everything was delicious, but especially the ahi tuna and sea bass!

   The food was excellent, as is typical for BlackSalt. The service, however, was far off of what would be expected for a top restaurant in DC. Our server couldn’t provide any details on the specials as “(she) didn’t have a chance to take a look”. This is what I would expect to hear at a fast casual establishment, not BlackSalt. Will be tough to go back when so many other options in the greater DC region.

   The service was exceptional. I arrived before opening and was allowed to sit at a table. The salmon cape was outstanding as well as the mussels. The grilled calamari were tender. The accompanying eggplant were nicely cooked small cubes. The tomato sauce was flavorful. There was no rush. We enjoyed ourselves at lunch

   Black Salt immediately gives you a feeling of being in a high end restaurant due to the service and ease with which are cared for. Every little item is placed with care and choices are identified for this evening based on a knowledge of the food and menu. Every item was delicious.

    Wonderful, fresh, inventive seafood dishes for very enjoyable evening out while traveling. We will definitely be back. Kenny was a very attentive server without excessive hovering. Lots of locals were there for happy hour. Their happy hour offerings must be very good! We were reserved for the dining room, and the service was wonderful even though we were on the early side of dinner. Loved the daily specials that seemed super fresh. Red Snapper tartare was amazing. The ahi tuna and crab cakes entrees were also fantastic. Drinks were well prepared and portioned. The cranberry orange crème brulee had a refreshing flavor and was just the right touch for a shared dessert. Thank you.
