The Blue Heron Steakhouse is located in the thriving historic Jefferson Street corridor. We offer an excellent menu with steakhouse classics and modern Southern fare with specialties such as fresh oysters, the finest cuts of beef, shrimp and grits and more. Our restaurant started as a hand-crafted cocktail bar and consumer demand made it obvious that we needed to expand to a full-service kitchen. The Blue Heron is situated in a renovated home with exposed brick, a beautiful, locally crafted chandelier, a roaring two-sided fireplace in the colder months. Locally owned and loaded with character, The Blue Heron is a perfect setting for an intimate date, an evening with friends or simply a casual dinner while watching the game.

Also, every other high end restaurant in Lexington has a variety of non-alcoholic options. This is something I would recommend you try to add to your beverage menu.

Finally a place in Lexington with excellent food and beautiful ambiance. We could actually have a conversation. The filet was like butter. David was a suburb wait staff. We definitely will be going back.

Carlo, our server, was so polite, informative and attentive. We’ve never had such an amazing server. The food was top notch. Tried the thick cut bacon appetizer and it was delicious. We’ve always gotten the porterhouse for two and it did not disappoint. Just a great overall experience.

Got there early, ordered great cocktail from Alicia at her suggestion. She was spot-on with food recommendations, too. Luger-style Porterhouse…perfection. Sides complemented everything well, excellent portions. Creamed spinach and mashed potatoes (chunkier, which was great!), burgundy mushrooms stood out. And Hannah was an amazing server. Ambience relaxing and low-key, exactly what we wanted. Will definitely come again.

I had the fish special--it was blackened red fish and it was excellent. My husband had the steak burger, which was also excellent. Carlos was our server and he was delightful.
