Fine dining has brought Boone Tavern much of its international acclaim. Whether you prefer traditional or creative southern cuisine, you will find palate pleasing fare in Boone Tavern’s Dining Room. The Duncan Hines Excellence in Hospitality Award was presented to Boone Tavern in 2003. The prestigious award is named for restaurant critic Duncan Hines. The Kentucky Tourism Council states, “Boone Tavern has been a hallmark in the hospitality business for nearly a century. After all these years, it continues to be a favorite destination.”
Lunch offerings let you choose from a variety of salads, unique sandwiches and hot entrées. Evening meals offer an array of delightful appetizers, salads, classic entrées and desserts. Historical favorites like “Chicken Flakes in a Bird’s Nest” and “spoonbread” are fixtures in the restaurant. Sunday Brunch is another tradition. Dining room attire is tastefully casual.

    Boone Tavern Restaurant has really grown up over the past few years. Nice menu, great food, real drinks, warm service. We had a wonderful New Years Eve dinner. I had the prime rib special which was done a bit differently but delicious, cooked perfectly to my medium-well request and generous. The layered potatoes were also good, if only warm. My wife had a scallop dish from the menu which she really enjoyed, while suggesting the chef cut the onions thinner. The first and most important taste for us is always the cocktail. Her martini did not disappoint and I had two solid manhattans. Our server, Trinity was terrific during dinner and when I forgot to take my credit card, she promptly gave it to the manager to hold for my pick up the next day. Boone Tavern is a legendary Inn and the restaurant is now certainly an appropriate offering at this landmark.

    Wonderful brunch and lunch. Very relaxing and reasonably priced. Spoon bread was a real treat. A real pleasure.

    The lobby and dining room are elegant. The server was very friendly, but inexperienced. He didn't offer specials, didn't clear the table between courses, and forgot drinks. All food was a little disappointing and some tasted microwaved. Salad dressings are lovely, Wilderness Road burger was ok
