A San Diego tradition since 1969, the Brigantine has received many accolades in our 40+ year history: "BEST SEAFOOD", "BEST CASUAL SEAFOOD", "BEST HAPPY HOUR", and even "BEST SWORDFISH IN THE WORLD", according to USA Today - just to name a few.

Well-known for our signature Clam Chowder, Grilled Swordfish, and Crème Brûlée, the Brigantine is a favorite among locals for consistently fresh seafood, succulent steaks and grilled meats.

With an updated nautical decor, the busy Oyster bar is hands-down the local favorite. Lush flowering foliage outdoors creates an elegant dining experience on one of two charming patios.

The La Mesa Brigantine serves dinner 7 nights a week, lunch Monday-Saturday, and brunch every Sunday.

Birthday dinner for 2. Excellent starters from the oyster menu, surf options and turf options on the main menu and the day's specials. Food was outstanding and service was La Mesa charming.

We particularly like the outdoor patio. We like getting there no later than 5:00. The parking is tight. The lower parking area requires an uphill walk or stairs some may not be comfortable with. The noise level goes up quite a bit as the daylight dwindles.

Wonderful spur of the moment decision for St Patrick’s Day dinner. From the moment we walked in we were treated wonderfully. Great food, service and wonderful table for two. Thank you!!

Enjoyed the St Patrick's menu today. Nice selection and good pricing. The two corned beef sliders had fries on the side and the Reuben sandwich was served with kettle chips and crunchy coleslaw. Too full but wanted to order the mint chocolate chip mud pie. Next time! This location Brigantine is our favorite even though we have another less than 2 miles from our house. Staff is great and food is always good.

Despite the delicious dinner, our presence at the establishment went unnoticed, as no one recognized our celebration of our anniversary, which we were sharing with our son.
