Welcome to a taste of history!

Denver’s original steakhouse, The Buckhorn Exchange is located in the city’s oldest neighborhood, just 5-minutes from downtown Denver -- with a light-rail stop right across the street. This National Historic Landmark and Western Museum has been serving the finest in Old West fare since 1893.

Prime grade beef steaks, buffalo prime rib, elk, salmon, quail, game hen, and succulent baby-back pork ribs are just some of the marvelous offerings on the Buckhorn menu. Exotic appetizers such as alligator tail and buffalo sausage are available, and no dinner is complete without the house specialty, Rocky Mountain Oysters.

For lunch we serve up a lighter fare including our renowned Grandma Fanny’s pot roast sandwich, enormous beef and buffalo burgers and more!

                      The Big Steak

                      Steak Dinner Our Specialty There is an old sign on the north side of the building that says 'Steak Dinners Our Specialty.' The same legend was also found on old menus and newspaper advertising. In keeping with this tradition, the Buckhorn Exchange offers large-portion steaks, intended for two to five guests. The steaks are cut from our New York strip loins, with the tail removed and all but a very thin layer of the fat cover. Cooked large like this, a lovely crust is formed and most agree that is the only thing better than our steaks that are cooked for one. Your steak is carved tableside and served with a sizzling crock of sautéed mushrooms and onions. Of course, soup or salad and side dish are included as with all our dinners. Additional cooking time is required

                                                  This is a really fun place to eat! The atmosphere is awesome! For the price you pay, they really skimp on things. The steaks are great, but the sides, salads, and bread rolls taste store bought and super cheap. They don’t even use real butter for the rolls.

                                                  The food was delicious. The lamb curry soup was outstanding! The buffalo was so tender and the everything was very tasty. This was our 4th time eating here and we have enjoyed it each time.

                                                  An overall phenomenal experience! From the moment we walked in, we felt very welcomed. Be sure to tour the upstairs and downstairs and take plenty of pictures. We enjoyed the calamari and beef tips for appetizers. I had a New York strip done to perfection. We took our servers advice and had the apple strudel à la mode. It was an extra choice! We will sure to be back! Thank you for a great time!

                                                  When in Denver, you MUST eat at Buckhorn Exchange on Osage! Serving since 1893, the food, drinks, history and game trophy memorabilia motif are phenomenal! I enjoyed the Blackened Buffalo Prime Rib - Delicious! Our table of four all had something different and everything was amazing. All the wait staff were fabulous, and we thoroughly enjoyed Jhovanny who gave great insight to the history of the place with a lot of fun facts. The Hubster finished almost all of his dinner, only to save enough room for the triple layer chocolate cake with ice cream. We will absolutely return! It is a one-of-a-kind place and well worth the visit!

                                                  Delightful place. The food was amazing, except for the rolls which were cold and a little stale. But it was one of the best rib-eyes ever. The waitress was great, service prompt but not intrusive, and the place is full of fascinating history. We've lived in Denver since 1972 and this is the first time we'e gone there. Well worth a trip!!
