   Food was pretty good however we were rushed from start to finish. We made a 10pm dinner reservation only to arrive on time and once seated, (at this point it was probably 9:59 pm) we were told that the kitchen closed at 10pm. We asked why did you accept a 10pm dinner reservation if the kitchen closes at 10? They then said we could order but would have to do so immediately. They rushed our food out and rushed us to leave.

   In a city of wonderful restaurants, Butcher and Singer comes out on top. Great food and great service make for a wonderful night out.

   The service was amazing-attentive and at one point we had someone else join us for drinks and they were able to accommodate that in a thoughtful way-so that was much appreciated. The food was-and you know it was going to be-expensive but worth it. The filet I got was buttery soft. I just got back from Tuscany and I would say that the filet at Butcher and Singer was, dare I say, better? The cauliflower was a perfect side. Drinks were smooth and I had a great red wine with dinner. I don’t usually like cheesecake but someone else got it-and it was fluffy, light but then had a topping of chocolate and caramel that gave it a balanced richness. Recommend if you want to splurge and have some really nice food in a nice, calm atmosphere

   We originally booked for 6 but had 2 more added last minute. The staff was very accommodating, we are very thankful for that. The service was great. Would definitely recommend and return.

   Butcher & SInger is an elite-level restaurant in Philadelphia boating excellent service, a great retro vibe and, most importantly, superb food. The steaks are sublme and the sides are nearly as good. it's not cheap, but that's not the intention. If you're looking for a special event kind of restaurant, Butcher & Singer is a superb choice.
