Bringing 1940s Paris to modern-day Edinburgh, Café St Honoré restaurant is a charming bistro serving up traditional French cuisine (with a few Scottish favourites thrown in) to a loyal clientele. Tucked away on a picturesque cobbled lane in the New Town, the cosy dining room at Café St Honore, with mirrored walls and black-and-white tiled floors, provides an atmospheric retreat. The team here are passionate about local, organic produce, so the menu changes daily. There are prix fixe menus on offer at lunch and dinner if you’re after a bargain, or just need an excuse to indulge in dessert. In the evening, a seasonal menu du jour is available alongside the full a la carte, which features dishes like roast pheasant with red cabbage and pancetta; Our warming Cafe St Honore Cassoulet; and vanilla crème brûlée. The wine list features some excellent French wines – a real treat for novices and connoisseurs alike.

We are offering a set 5-course tasting menu on the evening of Sunday 31st December. This menu is priced at £97-50 per head and as with all of our reservations, we are more than happy to cater for dietary requirements provided we are given plenty of advanced warning. We are taking reservations between 6pm-8pm and asking guests to vacate the restaurant by 11pm. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you and please do not hesitate to contact us with any further queries. All reservation are to be made with the restaurant by phone.

Excellent food, staff extremely helpful and friendly. Chef kindly catered to my dietary requirements and made some lovely vegan dishes. Whole experience was great!

I’ve been here a few times and it is always a perfect experience. Staff friendly and helpful. Food and wine excellent.

This is not a cheap option for lunch, but for a special occasion or treat, it is one of my favourite places in Edinburgh. The food, service and ambience are consistently exceptional. Definitely need to book in advance. The phone was busy all lunchtime with people looking for a table that night but they were fully booked.

I’ve eaten at st Honore before & had a fabulous meal. So I booked for a friend’s birthday celebration. The food was very ordinary. His partridge was wuite tough, my cod was slightly overcooked. I’ll think twice about booking again.

Just wow! On arrival the hostess was welcoming and friendly and considered where to seat us at a lovely table, and made us feel welcome straightaway. Then we ordered drinks and these were made straightaway. The Old Fashioned was excellent. Then the menu for food was amazing. Didn’t know what it would be before hand as it changes everyday Ordered and food was fantastic. I couldn’t say a single thing I would change. I cannot wait to go again next time I am in Edinburgh.

Excellent lunch & the food was superb. Felt authentically French with a relaxed atmosphere. We will all be back.
