Finally, a New York style atmosphere and experience crosses the Hudson to Central Jersey. Char Steakhouse's innovative cuisine features only the finest cuts of Dry Aged and Prime Beef with fish delivered fresh daily. Guests will dine by landscaped views revealed by towering windows. Mahogany wood walls and ceiling treatments create an authentic steakhouse environment rivaled by none in the New Jersey dining scene. Unique features include four modern fireplaces that are the first of their kind, a curved wall of water that rains serenity in the aptly named Rain Room. Guests can enjoy 7 cuts of the finest quality dry aged beef or snack on oysters and colossal blue crab from our premier raw bar. Seating in the lounge is offered on a first come first serve basis or party goers can reserve arched custom booths for up to twelve. Very busy for Sunday night but figuring its Valentines weekend it made sense. That didnt stop the service from being top notch, nor the food. Drinks were great, apps, and mains were delicious

                                                                                                                  It's pricey, but you get what you pay for: the food was excellent, the service was great, the staff was very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was quite nice. They were also able to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy with no issues whatsoever, and that's always a plus.

                                                                                                                  This was our valentine dinner. The place was very nice! All the host were wearing nice red dresses, the got me and my husbands coats and sat us at a timely manner. Got a beautiful flower and a great table with a nice view, we got a good waiter that informed us about the menu and showed us some good choices of drinks and food. Appetizers were good! And the main meal was amazing! Had a surf and turf and my husband got a loaded lobster, and a strong lemon drop. Overall the staff was nice cared for our needs and told us goodnight as we were leaving. 10/10

                                                                                                                  We dined yesterday for Valentine’s Day, and our experience was just ok. The food was good, nice ambience, but the service was very poor. The waiter was nice but failed to check in on us while he stood talking to other tables for over 5 minutes. He gave us the wrong side dish but did not come back to our table for us to let him know. We also ordered wine and beer to have with our entrees but they came 5 minutes after we were done with our food. The server then came back to try and sell us dessert but at that point we just wanted to go home. Poor time management with the server that costed us having a good evening. For the cost of dinner at Char, good service is expected, we were just disappointed with this experience.

                                                                                                                  From when we arrived until we left, we were treated so well by the staff at Char. They made the evening extra special with the decorations and gave every couple a carnation. The waiter/sommelier, Steven, was knowledgeable and recommendation great items for the meal.
