Finally, a New York style atmosphere and experience crosses the Hudson to Central Jersey. Char Steakhouse's innovative cuisine features only the finest cuts of Dry Aged and Prime Beef with fish delivered fresh daily. Guests will dine by landscaped views revealed by towering windows. Mahogany wood walls and ceiling treatments create an authentic steakhouse environment rivaled by none in the New Jersey dining scene. Unique features include four modern fireplaces that are the first of their kind, a curved wall of water that rains serenity in the aptly named Rain Room. Guests can enjoy 7 cuts of the finest quality dry aged beef or snack on oysters and colossal blue crab from our premier raw bar. Seating in the lounge is offered on a first come first serve basis or party goers can reserve arched custom booths for up to twelve. Server Merve provided perfect service, knowledgeable of the menu and good at matching menu items with our taste and interest. The experience was delightful, food was excellent. Don’t forget to leave room for the chocolate moose cake! If you’re going to Char Stake House, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in Merve’s section to ensure that you have the best possible experience Char can provide!

Great night out with friends, from cocktails to starters to main courses and desert, everything was delicious. The inly thing better than the food was the service!

Celebrated a friend’s birthday for dinner. Drinks were good and the bread was delicious, especially the popovers. The waiter, Ben and staff were attentive, professional and not overbearing. For dinner we enjoyed a seafood plate that included a lovely assortment of shellfish and dips. I gave a 4 star for food due to the super thin cut of rib eye. The taste was good but was a little more cooked than the medium rare ordered. The cookie jar sundae for dessert was delicious. The giant shooting candle for the birthday made this a lot of fun. The noise level was high but as diners completed their meals it leveled off a bit so you could hear the conversation in your group.

We had a nice relaxing Sunday evening dinner. The atmosphere is much calmer than a Friday or Saturdy night so we could easily chat without shouting! Good service with attention to detail. The food was generally good, although one member of our party ordered the Steak Frites special and said the steak was not very flavorful. I ordered the Lobster & Avocado Salad that was delicious. Someone ordered a glass of the only Pinot Grigio on the wine list and said it was not a particularly good one.

Excellent all around. The outside dining area is awesome. Covered patio area is very nicely set up and heaters took the early November chill out of the air. Service, atmosphere, and steaks were all great. A bit on the expensive side but not outrageously so. If you’re looking for a special dining experience you won’t be disappointed.

Great experience! Food and drinks were great, service was great everyone is so kind. Everything came out in a timely manner and servers are very attentive, the porterhouse steak was so good, highly recommend!!
