Finally, a New York style atmosphere and experience crosses the Hudson to Central Jersey. Char Steakhouse's innovative cuisine features only the finest cuts of Dry Aged and Prime Beef with fish delivered fresh daily. Guests will dine by landscaped views revealed by towering windows. Mahogany wood walls and ceiling treatments create an authentic steakhouse environment rivaled by none in the New Jersey dining scene. Unique features include four modern fireplaces that are the first of their kind, a curved wall of water that rains serenity in the aptly named Rain Room. Guests can enjoy 7 cuts of the finest quality dry aged beef or snack on oysters and colossal blue crab from our premier raw bar. Seating in the lounge is offered on a first come first serve basis or party goers can reserve arched custom booths for up to twelve. Our highly trained and experienced staff exhibit warmth and hospitality in welcoming Char's guests home. All of this at a prices you never thought possible.

    For us, this was a special occasion meal and the food and the service were top shelf. We were a little taken back by the sticker shock, but the drinks, steak, salad, lobster, and appetizers were so good, I can’t complain. However, we were very surprised by the dress of the clientele. People were wearing sweats and sneakers in what I consider to be a very expensive and high end restaurant. Our waiter Pierre was an absolute pro. This is not a place for me to frequent often but maybe once or twice a year for a special occasion.

    this place def went downhill imo . i wanted to go for anniversary but was loud like insanely loud and not intimate like it was before. The steak was OK , lamb was great as well as tuna tar tar but i gotta say i wont go back. Service was ok . nothing great. they walked around with a cold bread basket, seemed cheap and not classy at all. we went bc we reembered 3 years ago it was really nice. wasnt the same.

    Delicious steaks and fish yummy sides of truffle fries, asparagus and potatoes gratin. Friendly fun service attentive and efficient.

    Excellent food and service. My husband and I went for our anniversary. Server was immaculate and attentive, food was superb! We will return.

    This was the one week wedding anniversary treat to my beautiful wife. We have been to many steak houses, most of which were not bad by any means. CHAR of Red Bank, comped us champagne. On top of that, THE BEST food, service, prices hands down. I am a picky person, but do not have one single complaint about this establishment. Well done CHAR!!

    Wonderful dining experience at Char. We were having dinner prior to a show. We advised he server of this and she advised she would have us out by 7:15 pm. She did not disappoint. The food was delicious...we even had time for dessert! This was my first visit and will not be my last.
