Happy new year! Myself and two others had New Year’s at Choquette. It was a prefixed menu with limited options approximately three in each category. The choices were fine and very traditionally French as we expected. However, the portion sizes were very small for a $95 price tag. We got the wine pairings which brought it up to 135 per person. The wine pairings were smaller than the food was. The place was so loud that we could not hear one another sitting across the table. They also placed us right by the door, which was chronically left open by staff and customers. The temperature was in the 40s, so it was very cold every time the door opened . The food was well prepared, but Was so small that when we left, we were all still very hungry. We had the fish and the steak as entrées and crab salad, oysters, and scallops. Prepared well with decent flavors, but nothing memorable. Desserts were probably the highlight of the evening. Simple and traditional but very good. We arrived at 7:30 and we asked to leave at 9 o’clock. We certainly did have enough time to talk, but I felt for the price we should’ve had at least two hours there. I understand they need to turn over tables to make money but felt rushed. I have eaten there before over the years and I found the place fairly pleasant and enjoyed my meals there. However, I have to say I was truly disappointed.

Dinner was Christmas Eve and not many restaurants were open. As a result Chouquet was very busy and noisier than usual. The meal was very pleasant. While our order did get messed up, the hostess went well out her way to compensate for it.

We were supposed to be seated inside but were moved outside so it was a bit cold. All portions were large except for vegetarian main. Service was slow given the holiday but restaurant was understaffed

Our whole dining experience was ruined from the moment we walked in. I had made a reservation 2 days previously with Open Table for my husband and I at 6pm on Christmas Eve and requested Standard seating. As soon as we checked in we were told by the host and waitress that we would have to sit outside. After we explained to them that by husband had a neurological condition and I had a bad back which would be aggravated by the cold, the host said we could have an inside table, but it had to be free by 7 pm, so we would have have one hour and 15 minutes to eat. I have frequented this restaurant several times in the past, but I assure you I will not be going back there again.

Great place! We really enjoyed the food. Mussels very amazing. Butter lettuce can use some jazz!

Excellent all around! We had the boeuf bourguignon, steak frites, blanquette de veau. All delicious. We also enjoyed the desserts, we’d recommend the crème brûlée and chocolate fondant. Great atmosphere inside and great staff.
