Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Campbell’s Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana’s famous Crab Cakes, Fried Chicken, Sweet Potato Muffins and Spoon Bread.
The street address is 101 S. Waller Street, with ample parking behind the tavern.

    Superb cuisine attentively served in an authentic colonial atmosphere. My salad was a delicious work of art, and the fried chicken I ordered was prepared to perfection. My wife also greatly enjoyed her trout. The place is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

    Wonderful evening! Our server, Misha, did a great job recommending drinks, meals and desserts. The information they shared was interesting but didn’t interfere with our delicious meal. Really enjoyed the live music! Can’t wait to return!

    We enjoyed celebrating our 46 wedding anniversary. The crab cakes were the largest and nicest I’ve ever eaten. The trout had a little more breading than he liked. The sweet potato muffins were perfection. The Irish flute entertainment was very enjoyable. Dining by candlelight was very romantic. This is an historic building and is not handicapped friendly. The restroom is downstairs. Parking is in the back and where you enter the drive is not obvious and down the street—hard to see after dark. The menu is historic style and fun to read. We love to eat here on every visit to Colonial Williamsburg. I make reservations several months in advance.

    The crab cakes were generous size and FULL of crab meat! Nice touch with the crab claw nestled in and ready to pull out a delicious chunk of crab. My husband's meatless option was filling, creamy and very delicious. A great place for a celebration splurge!

    Superb food, entertainment, and service in a colonial(-like) environment. Has long been our favorite Colonial Williamsburg dining spot and is, if anything, even better today than it was 40 years ago.

    An unforgettable dining experience. All seafood dishes are worth the trip. Stellar service. The only problem: the unlit rear parking area was difficult to navigate on a fall night: no lights, no signage and an uneven walking service. We had difficulty finding how to enter the Tavern.
