Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Campbell’s Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana’s famous Crab Cakes, Fried Chicken, Sweet Potato Muffins and Spoon Bread.
The street address is 101 S. Waller Street, with ample parking behind the tavern.

    Campbell’s has been a favorite place to dine for me- a resident of over 50 years. Now my granddaughter is so excited to come here. The porch is my favorite spot.

    Overall amazing! Our waitress Stephanie was amazing and really made us feel welcome. She made our dinner experience fun while we ate. 10/10 will come again.

    None of the entrees nor the bread were even warm. Salad was wilted. The dumplings were undercooked.

    Fantastic ambience with delicious entrees. The seafood pie was divine with trifle to finish. Wonderful service and festive music!

    All our meals at Campbell's over the years have always been nice dining experiences, with excellent food and service.

    It was the experience in an old tavern that was enjoyable. Did feel a little rushed in the end when not even asked if we wanted dessert, but just offered the bill. Seemed like a big attempt to flip the table in just over 1 hour, like 1 hour 4 minutes to be exact . However, we did ask about dessert and stayed for it.

    We went for Christmas dinner and this was the worst food we have eaten in a restaurant in a long time. The food was equivalent to a bad banquet meal. The appetizers were ok, but the entrees were horrible. Several of us had a grossly overcooked and flavorless flounder and lobster that was supposed to have a truffle buere blanc which was missing. The others ordered the steak that was chewing shoe leather even though they were medium rare. All the dishes were luke warm like they just came out of a hot box. We believe the food was cooked off-site in a banquet kitchen and delivered to the site. For the price we paid we feel we got ripped off.

    Wonderful emersive experience in authentic Williamsburg tavern. Food was excellent and service impeccable.

    An absolute ripoff based on the horrible quality of the food. They are clearly taking advantage of Christmas Day dinners with an outrageously priced and terribly prepared prix fixe dinner. Our main courses were either cold or overcooked and dry as dust, and requesting a fix brought a result that was microwaved to destruction. Never ever again. I'd demand a refund and damages if I had any idea how to get there.

    We have come here several times for Christmas Dinner and have decided that it is now our holiday tradition. Outstanding service and delightful ambiance. We really enjoyed the harp player and the candlelight. The prix fixe menu had options for everyone and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. My husband had the angus beef and I had the barley risotto. The crab cake appetizer was the size of a dinner cake and paired perfectly with the squash hash bed upon which it was served. Dinner was so filling that we got our peppermint chocolate cake to go. The waitstaff is wonderful. Charming and well trained. We were not rushed at all and could savor the entire experience. Well worth the money!
