Built in 1790 as a barn and named for local farmer John Kittle, the farm to table connection that began back then continues today at Crabtree's Kittle House. Internationally renowned for its Wine Spectator Grand Award wine list, superlative hospitality and contemporary American cuisine, it is a sophisticated country dining experience located only 45 minutes from Manhattan. Whether stopping in for a casual meal in the Tap Room or planning a formal intimate celebration from 2 to 200 guests, you'll find something for everyone and every occasion at Crabtree's Kittle House. The culinary team focuses on the local bounty of the Hudson Valley, from salads, burgers, & fresh cold shellfish to more refined cuisine, available in both the Tap Room, Main Dining Room and Ivy Hill Room. We’ve had better experiences here in the past Service was just ok…nothing great. Possibly a New Year’s Eve lunch was not a good choice as they were more concerned with setting up for New Year’s Eve celebrations than with us We’ve had the lobster bisque before and it was amazing. Today lacking

Actually, it was better than ever. We loved the new menu and some of the initial changes with new ownership and the staff as always was attentive and fantastic.

What a place! Who knew? History, lovely setting, delectable food. Really made for a perfect Christmas Eve lunch. Hidden gem!!!

An enjoyable Christmas dinner with two friends. In the beginning I felt a bit rushed but then was able to enjoy a leisurely meal. We each had different salads; kale, kittle house, and beet. All fairly non-descript except the kale salad that was supposed to include delicata squash, did not and my friend was disappointed in that. Branzino with cous cous was very good, as was the short rib. The pork chop was quite large and cooked just right. Our server was helpful and suggested a very good wine. The coffee and tea actually stayed hot in the deep mugs, and the chocolate chip bread pudding was quite good as well. Overall, a very nice meal and will return in the new year.

I have dined at KH several times over the years. Although the restaurant is stunning from the outside the main dining room lacks ambience for the price point. When the bar area, which has a fireplace, is more attractive than the main dining room this is a disappointing issue. They need a decorator! The food was good and the wait was not what one would expect of a restaurant of this caliber.

From the moment we walked through the door, it felt special. We were seated in the “garden room” off of the bar area, which is very rustic yet fancy. There was a fire in the fireplace, and a really good live musician. The food was terrific. I had a mushroom appetizer served over polenta - the highlight of my dinner - and the duck breast. My husband started with the pasta bolognese and had the chicken. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. It was a very lovely evening.

Been here many many times. But the branzino was very bland. Kittle house salad wonderful as was the apple crumble dessert. But disappointed in the branzino.
