Mr. Castillo and his Partners are keenly focused on honoring Oaxacan culinary traditions, whose fame is derived in great part from its many varieties of moles. By legend, these ancient recipes are more than sauces, they are the very focus of the meal. Casual waterfront dining right on the docks of the Patchogue River, The Oar serves up fresh and delicious steaks and seafood.  Chefs prepare specialties like coconut shrimp, 36 oz sizzling prime porterhouse, lobster quesadillas and fresh Bluepoint oysters and little clams which are delivered daily.  Two dining rooms are decorated in traditional nautical style.  The front wall in made up of French doors that open onto the water, providing dockside open air seating in warm months and picturesque views of the marina year-round.  The rear dining room is elegant with raise panel mahogany, white table clothes and blue and white nautical stripe wall paper.  We look forward to accommodating your special occasion in the separate catering room.  The restaurant stocks full indoor and outdoor bars so you'll never miss a beautiful night at this fun and entertaining spot.

Butera's Restaurant of Sayville is a full service, fine dining "Family-Style" Italian restaurant serving seafood, steaks, veal, chicken and pastas dishes. "Family-style" dining affords groups the opportunity to sample many dishes at one time. We also serve individual portions upon request. We have a full bar and extensive wine list as well as an assortment of homemade desserts. There is sidewalk seating in beautiful downtown Sayville when the weather permits. Our lounge dining room provides private dining for groups of 25 - 40. We also cater larger parties in our other two dining rooms. Off-premise catering is a specialty of Butera's. Please join us for lunch. We have Italian dishes, focaccia sandwiches, burgers and wraps with an Italian slant. as well as wonderful composed salads. Lunch is done individually.

    The food and service was phenomenal! Had an amazing time and our server Jessica was the absolute best!! Would highly recommend this restaurant!!

    I forgot to take pictures of our foods ordered. We lucked out and it wasn’t busy. We had a show at the Theater to attend. Our waitress was great. First time I had an Old Fashioned, been curious about it and it was really good. I had the Burrata Salad with grilled shrimp and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients. Hubs ordered Best Chicken on the Block and he enjoyed it. Our friends ordered the Southwest Chopped Salad and the House Burger. Both were pleased with their meal. Plus a cocktail Rusty Nail, which was also tasty. Also an order of Hand Cut Fries for the table. It was a big plate, plenty for four people to share and tasty. Next time I go I’ll be ordering a Rusty Nail. I like the look of their bar style, just something about it.
