Michelin-recommended since 2022.We first imagined Aloette to be the perfect diner that we’d want to dine in – a menu with a great cheeseburger paired with a fantastic and fun wine list, a long row of bar stools facing the bar and the kitchen, and an energetic atmosphere accented with an old school hip hop playlist. The buzz of the dining room mirrors the energy of the street on Spadina Avenue; the dining room itself mimics a train’s dining car. It’s a bistro-meets-diner-meets-internationally-inspired menu which is also representative of the diverse culture in Toronto. Our service team is upbeat and genuine but also deeply knowledgeable about the menu and offerings. Brunch at Aloette was something we said we’d never do. But the city kept asking and we’re glad to be a new staple in the Queen West neighbourhood for mimosas, chicken and waffles, and piping hot coffees. Excellent experience.....although.....just one tiny comment. We were there for lunch/brunch and the food served should have been a bit warmer, and that was true for all 6 of us.

We have been to Joey’s many times in Vancouver and other Joey locations in Toronto but Joey King West is definitely a step up. Fabulous ambiance and decor and they offer unique items not available on the regular Joey menu. Great service, very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive but not rushed. The spicy crab dip was a nice sharable appetizer. My only criticism was the wine. I selected a BOTTLE of Italian super Tuscan from the wine list. When it came out in a carafe I asked the server if I could see the bottle. She told me that it was “on tap”. Really?????? Have never experienced this before anywhere. And not surprisingly, it was sub par.

Earls on King West is a lovely vibe, and the service is always outstanding. Food is generally very good. Nice place to go on a date or with a group.

Another incredible experience at Daphne!! I went twice in one week during my trip to Toronto and it could not have been more perfect. I stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the tuna carpaccio, seafood pasta, and truffle fries. Michael, Amanda, and Lou were so attentive and friendly. I can truly say Daphne has been the highlight of my trip! What an amazing start to the new year!
