We are a Laotian restaurant in the heart of the neighborhood of Shaw. Baan Mae means Mom's house in Laotian. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and we had the best time ever!! The head chef Alexis was funny, made delicious sushi, and put on a show — I even got to get in on the action with torching the wagyu!!! It was so much fun, the vibe, atmosphere, music, people — everything was spectacular! 100/10 would go again for sure.

My experience was great. The serves were kind. The jerk chicken lollipops and Caesar Salad were my favorite. The croutons in the salad melted in my mouth.I enjoyed the Snow Crab Asian Garlic noodles. I wish it had more crab meat and that was it a bit more spicier. I had a mango mocktail , it was sooo good! I wanted to take it home.

We had a wonderful lunch at Kaliwa. Our server Brenda was great! We loved the chicken and pork belly in skewers, the fried snapper and the chocolate dessert.

The food here was exceptionally good. Bright bold flavors and exciting menu choices that made me want to order everything. Drinks on point as well. Service very friendly and food came out quickly too. All around checks the boxes. I can't wait to go back, definitely a new favorite/staple.
