Next Door is the sister restaurant of Margaret, which, quite literally, sits next door to it at the corner of Bay St and Guilfoyle Avenue. Featuring a rolling 12-hour lunch-to-dinner menu, the bar brings you a selection of specially curated small plates such as Woodfire Grilled Peppers, Cherry Tomatoes with Oregano, Braised Zucchini with Mint, Chilli and Pecorino, as well as an amazing selection of Consorcio, Cuca, Pollastrini, Ortiz and Real Conversas tins with some freshly baked sourdough from Baker Bleu. Always a great experience at Surly’s! They’ve put together an amazing Super bowl experience where the staff do a great job to create a fun environment for everyone!

The beef burger was excellent, the chicken nuggets not so good and the Whiskey Sour okay. It gets busy when there are shows on at the Hordern, booking online is recommended. The bathroom gives dive bar vibes and it is somewhat the aesthetic of Mary’s but it definitely needed a good clean.
