A favourite of Clapham Junction's Northcote Road since 1990 - an awfully long time in the London restaurant scene - Osteria Antica Bologna is as fresh and thrilling an Italian restaurant as the day it first opened its doors. It conjures up images of hidden away village osterias in the wild countryside of Emilia Romagna or the rolling hills of Tuscany, its cheerful welcome befitting of an old family favourite. Poppies in Hanbury Street was Pop’s first restaurant and the one where the journey began. The retro-diner and takeaway is close to Pop’s heart as it brought 70year old Pat out of retirement. We dined here for Christmas Day dinner and had such a lovely time! We made advance reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival and greeted with our welcome drink of choice. While they were extremely busy and crowded, our server was extremely attentive and the music playlist was on point. The whole staff was so friendly and welcoming and we enjoyed the food and overall experience very much!
