This was our first visit to Nisei and it did not disappoint! We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday and it couldn’t have been more special. The entire tasting menu was incredible—each dish was a new delightful and delicious experience. Chef David is so talented and creative in the way he blends flavors. The entire staff was also exceptional—they were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Nisei for a special occasion or if you are just looking for an incredible dining experience. It is worth every penny!

The experience was phenomenal! The food takes its time to come out, so order the Peking duck ahead of time, and put in for hot and cold appetizers. The fried rice was great and the xiao long bao was made perfectly. The staff and our server Jenny were so accommodating and really made us feel comfortable, especially my in-laws who do not frequent the cuisine, but now they cannot get enough of it.

The food was excellent. However the service left much to be desired. Long gaps between courses. Had ordered 2 mains. Second one came 15 minutes after the first. Rice had gone cold. Severe did not come around to check on drinks.

Fantastic food, great service and funky cool atmosphere! A lot of fun!

All of our servers were polite and efficient, refilling our water a couple of times, which was nice since the carafe was on our table for self service. The lunch portions were hearty and very tasty. The colorful decor was pleasing with my only critique being that they crammed everybody in on one side of the restaurant with no table gaps. I understand server efficiency, but I think it made the room louder than it needed to be. The ladies next to us scooted closer together instead of sitting on opposite sides of the small, round table so that they could hear each other. The other half of the restaurant was completely empty so it would have been nice to space us out, particularly the larger groups. All in all an enjoyable meal, though.
