Great food, really charming service. Very quiet on an early Spring sunny Saturday lunchtime which was a shame as a bit more ambience would have rounded off an otherwise lovely meal. I can’t help feeling the lovely room and decor is even better for an evening meal. Thank you for a lovely meal.

Gilbey's is the perfect place to stay and eat on a trip to Eton and/or Windsor. Comfortable, quiet, and spacious accommodation; lovely restaurant with delicious, inventive, and reasonably priced food; and courteous and helpful service.

Great food, friendly and professional service, and a lovely, relaxed feel. We sat outside in the spring sunshine, soaking up the peace and quiet of the Common. Both diners had the burgers which were substantial and delicious, especially with the chunky hand-carved chips. For pudding, we had the creme brule and the apple and rhubarb crumble with vanilla custard - both were presented beautifully and in exactly the right proportions - not too big nor too small. We were both driving, so unable to take advantage of the tempting wines.

We had a table for 4 booked for my husbands birthday - all the staff were amazing, very friendly and all acknowledged his birthday. The food was also amazing, I had the Venison which was perfectly cooked and delicious, followed by the Chocolate and Praline desert - also absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and we didn’t feel pressured to leave, despite being the last party in the restaurant. We had a bottle of rose champagne which was quite expensive. Overall, would definitely recommend.

Great staff and ambiance! We had a lovely dinner and place was not crowded like when restaurants set tables 5cms from each other ;)
