Serving contemporary French food, this much-loved independent restaurant has been going strong for over 22 years. Before booking, please note the restaurant has both downstairs and upstairs. The same menu options are available on both floors. There is no lift upstairs. Re Tasting Menu Timings: At lunch you must book before 1.45pm, and at dinner before 8.45pm. Tasting menus are not available outside of these times.If you cannot find a table, please contact the restaurant team direct as not all tables are available to book online. Please contact the restaurant with any private dining enquiries or group bookings 7+Credit card details required. La Palombe is a new neighbourhood bistro from restaurateur James Chiavarini (also of Il Portico) & chef patron Jake Leach (previously head chef at the three Michelin starred The Ledbury).A large wood burning grill takes center stage where the majority of the dishes are cooked over live embers. James & Jake work together every shift to serve dishes with a real sense of terroir and provenance, including our speciality of wild foods foraged ourselves. Expect wild noisette venison, Wiltshire truffles (thanks to our house truffle dog Alba!), rare woodland mushrooms, and much wonderful produce from our small organic farm in Kent.The wine list is sourced entirely from independent producers, and regularly updated with a specialised focus on low intervention, natural and biodynamic wines.We are across the road to the Design Museum & Holland Park, a 10 minute walk from Kensington Olympia and a short distance to the Royal Albert Hall.

Margaux is a modern European restaurant/wine bar. The French/Italian inspired menu includes seared foie gras, house made pork terrine, porcini risotto for appetisers and seared scallops, grilled veal rib and Barolo braised beef as some of the main courses. 100 bin wine list covers a broad range of producers and grapes, with an emphasis on old world wines. If you don"t want to stretch to a bottle there are over 25 wines by the glass and carafe. The dessert menu includes a dark chocolate plate featuring cocoa in 7 textures, passion fruit crème brûlée and amaretto sponge cake and a selection of house made ice creams. The weekend brunch menu features classic such as eggs benedict and eggs royal, smoked salmon, french toast with cinnamon ice cream.

    We went for a valentines day meal and I am struggling to find any fault. The meal was outstanding; an excellent mushroom and wild garlic soup followed by Chicken ballontine. This was followed by the best creme brûlée I think I have ever had. Accompanied by a great wine choice, this represented great value for money in terms of quality. What makes the difference however is the level of service. Professional, polite, attentive but not intrusive. The owner also came around to make sure things were fine with his customers and it was very clear that he really cares for his customers, his staff and the dishes prepared. If this review isnt enough to convince you, just take a look at the other reviews and ratings - this place is a gem.
