The Harwood Arms re-opened in September 2008 after some much needed refurbishment. This rural haven in the middle of Fulham is a collaboration between Brett Graham of the famed Ledbury restaurant, Mike Robinson of the acclaimed Pot Kiln pub in rural Berkshire and Edwin Vaux from the famous Vaux brewery. The idea is to provide Londoners with a really relaxed venue for eating the finest British produce, cooked amazingly well, accompanied by excellent beer and wine at a great price.

Our inspiration is the Zeus Faber… John Dory, one of many local fish that can be fished sustainably and from our shores and although it has a wonderful Latin come Greek name it also has a very British name, John Dory. Faber is the Latin word for ‘Smith’ – Like a few other Latin occupational names (e.g. Agricola for farmer, Nauta for sailor). Smith being the most common name in English we decided it sits well with our name as we want to be accessible to all and give everyday people the opportunity to be part of our journey and own the business they work in.What sets us apart is our commitment to working with local fishmongers who run out to the coast each evening to collect day-boat fish and local ingredients. We are a dog friendly pub as long as they are with well behaved hoomans but we don't allow dogs in our dining area, if you would like to bring a four-legged friend, let us know and we can seat you in our bar area or garden.We accept bookings up to 6 inside, multiple bookings cannot be made for the same party. We have a click and pay app for our guests; it helps us decrease contact at the bar. It also enables our guest to remain at their table. I had a very relaxing time. The food was unique and different from afternoon tea in other hotels. I really liked the scones here. They were crispy, small, easy to eat and the jam was delicious. I was also happy that they provided high chairs for my baby. The atmosphere is casual, perfect for visiting with my kids. It was full when I visited. Everyone enjoyed chatting so I didn't have to worry if my kids were a bit loud.
