The Quality Chop House celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2019.Our menus are seasonally-focused and change daily based around the best produce delivered each morning. We suggest bookings, but do take walk-ins.In addition to our a la carte menu, we offer a £29 set lunch menu (January to November), and on Sunday lunches we serve a splendid roast.If you are interested in a table for more than 6 guests, we have a Private Dining Room that seats up to 14.     The service was superb and the haddock fish & chips even better - the best we've enjoyed in the UK. Their high ratings are definitely earned!!

    We had some issues with several of the dishes. In particular it seemed the kitchen, on this occasion, struggled to deliver fish dishes that were not far too overcooked - not great when you're asking for things to be rare or medium. And even if you're not asked (as was the case with one of these dishes) they should not be prepared like that. First time here and whilst not a great fan of the low tables and chairs we had an enjoyable time. Until... ca 2.45pm when all of the restaurant, literally every table, became an afternoon tea party. That drastically changes the end of a lunch experience and not for the better. We decided against having a pudding and more wine and fled the scene. Shame. Standout service delivered by Valentina.
