Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023. Ali was our server and he was amazing. On a rainy raw day his suggestion for the hot specialty tea was brilliant (and friend thought it was too and happily had one). The basil, honey and ginger was perfect!

The tasting menu with the wine pairing was creative and delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and paced the offers of assistance perfectly. She also had a delightful personality. This is a must-try dining experience.

From the moment we stepped in and to the moment we left, we were such well taken cared for. SHIA thought of every little detail. Not only was the food amazing but it truly was the people that made the difference. You could feel the warmth and genuineness shine through every person we interacted with. It was a cozy and intimate night we won't ever forget.
