Welcome to The Greyhound, a 17th century coaching inn, in the heart of Beaconsfield Old Town.Owned and managed by husband and wife team, Daniel Crump and Margriet Vandezande-Crump, the pub and restaurant was named as the ‘One to Watch in the UK’s prestigious Top 50 Gastropubs Awards, named a TripAdvisor 2021 Travellers’ Choice Award Winner, and voted the best restaurant in Bucks & Oxon by guests in the annual Muddy Stilettos awards. The 17th Century craftsman’s cottage has gradually been extended to form a charming country pub full of nooks and crannies. Under new ownership, The Black Horse has recently undergone extensive refurbishment both inside and out, creating one of the nicest pub environments in the area.Food is our passion and we will never compromise on quality. We are proud of our seasonally changing menus, simple, yet exciting using the finest ingredients and locally sourced produce. Certain dishes have become specialities such as our sticky ribs and homemade 8oz burgers. Our beef has been aged for a minimum of 35 days and the roast beef served on Sundays is unrivalled. Crispy beer battered fish and specials such as sea bass, turbot and whole lobster, is caught in the morning and delivered fresh to us on the same day.

Our first time at the Greyhound. We both had the tasting menu which was absolutely lovely. The service is excellent, and we were looked after superbly. It was much more than a meal and more like ‘an experience’. My partner and I were amazed when we left, that we had been there for almost 4 hours. Finally, you know you’re in a place that thinks of everything when they 1. Have a presentation box with different strength reading glasses for those of us that always forget our glasses. 2. At the end of the meal, you are given a bag with 2 gift boxes with breakfast for the next day. Superb all round and we will definitely be back.

It was a quiet early evening which is fine for us lovely and warm pub staff were pleasant friendly and helpful food we really enjoyed portion size was just right for us will definitely return.

The Yew Tree has an amazing ambience and we were lucky to sit by the open fire. The Sunday roast was delicious and the service was good despite the fact they had a large party to be served. Always my favourite place to go on a Sunday nowhere else is as nice.
