Friendly staff. Great service, good food and fantastic value

We had heard good things about the Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Everything was superb and this was a consensus with our guests who are also restaurant owners in Cornwall. The only thing we felt was a little under par was the over cooked roasted veg… slightly over done and crispy made so by being kept warm for afternoon service we suspected. The roasts were priced higher than average but the food was very good so we felt it was worth it. The 20% service charge is also much higher than even restaurants in Cornwall so we would have liked this to be lower if not optional.

Fabulous food - the fish pie is really gorgeous and is very popular. The staff are all fantastic - welcoming, warm and very helpful. Atmosphere of the building is cosy and the beams are fantastic although ducking may be required in places! A walk down the pontoon to look at the river and watch the wildlife is a must, even in chilly weather. Car park spaces are limited but everyone seems to manage fine!
