A Mediterranean bar and restaurant inspired by our recent travels through the region.As you enter you'll find the bar, a quintessentially European  combination of alfresco, booth & bar seating. With an 80 bottle wine list from sommelier Jean Draillard, an extensive cocktail list from head mixologist Euan Ferderer & the perfect Mediterranean snack menu from head chef Ignacio Morales, the bar is one of a kind. No bookings, no turn times for tables just walk-ins only so come whenever and stay forever. Upstairs you'll find the dining room. Soaked in natural light from the sky lights and the adjustable roof, the dining room will be the perfect spot for anything from a long lunch to a late dinner. We have created the perfect Mediterranean menu, cooking over woodfire to enhance flavours. From traditional dishes like slow cooked lamb shoulder & taramasalata to burrata & wagyu sirloin, this menu explores a range of flavours and dishes from the Mediterranean.

Share some plates and have some fun.We don't like to play favourites but you should DEFINITELY try the Hazelnut Muhammara (blitzed red pepper dip topped with a sprinkling of pomegranate, roast hazelnuts, coffee grinds and native honey). Pair it with one of our Jerusalem Bagels (baked like a baby sourdough [rather than boiled] and brushed with pomegranate molasses before it gets popped in the oven). A sherwal is a traditional, multi-layered baggy men’s trousers worn in various areas of the Mediterranean. Centuries old, it is a rare sight nowadays, except in remote villages and at traditional cultural ceremonies and, well, at our restaurant. Why name our restaurant after an archaic pants? Because, somehow, this pair of comfortable pants has found its way into our modern world, with little tweaks here and there taking the form of harem pants or baggy jeans, fusing the old with the new. And this is what we want to do. We want to take old culinary masterpieces from the Mediterranean and fuse them together, with new flavours here and there, adding new colours and new tastes to the table.

Here at Zafferano, we like to keep things a little old school, from sourcing to serving, our key values remain. Simone, the Head Chef and co-owner of Zafferano grew up inside the kitchen of his family's restaurant in Porticello, Sicily and brings that passion and authenticity to his food. We believe in celebrating just how powerful food can be, from the seed to the plate. Because connection through food is our mission. Our space is intimate with only 38 seats and the overall vibe of the restaurant really transports you to Sicily with an outdoor courtyard that feels like a traditional Italian piazza. We have a few signature dishes however the Risotto Marinara & Spaghetti Marinara are definitely at the for front of our menu.
