Always a pleasure to dine at St John's - been coming for over 25 years - and it never disappoints. In Summer - it can be beautiful to sit outside in their small but surprisingly accommodating garden - the interior is always stylish and inviting. Good for intimate dinners or lunches for two, for large family tables or indeed hiring the whole restaurant out. Better to sit closer to the fire than the kitchen end of the dining room.

Service and food outstanding. Lussmanns is a eal cut above the rest for this price range. Excellent value too!

Lovely lunch, with good sized portions. We had a missing item from one of our starters. When this was bought to the staff's attention, they apologised immediately and sent complimentary chips to the table. The rest of the meal was delicious and came without any issues. Even better, when the bill came, staff had also deducted the price of one of our drinks to again apologise for the earlier problem. Can't fault the customer service.

Great food as usual , served by a lovely waitress. Birthday meal with friends fab . My only criticism is but can’t be helped £10 for one G and T. The fish dishes always tasty and the people who had steaks said they were delicious. Will be back again. As it’s my favourite restaurant in St Albans .
