Chef Frank Bonanno dug into his Sicilian heritage and east coast roots to create this authentic, rustic Italian eatery. Luca has amazing personal touches from the daily made breads and pastas to the meats and cheeses cured in house, to the charcoal drawing of Bonanno’s son (and the restaurant’s namesake) that hangs in the dining room. Luca is heartwarming and satisfying from the wood-fired pizzas to the hand-rolled pastas to the perfectly seared proteins. Bar Red is located just east of Colfax and Glenarm, two blocks from the Colorado Convention Center and directly across Colfax from the Golden Triangle. Bar Red offers Authentic Italian cuisine. Happy hour from 4pm-7pm and dinner from 5pm to close. The menu was prepared by Chef Luke McCoy. Chef Luke is classically trained in French and Italian Cuisine. Chef Luke's signature Seared Salmon Risotto is famous amongst regulars. All of Chef Luke's dishes are meticulously prepared with fresh scratch ingredients ...and his house-made Desserts are to die for. The menu changes weekly with many mainstay dishes to please all foodies. Bar Red also features occasional live music and there is never a cover charge. We were celebrating a birthday and both of our meals were delicious. The only reason I gave the food a 4 star was the Caesar was disappointing. My linguine with clams, mussels and shrimp was wonderful and my birthday partner loved her eggplant. We also were surprised by a complimentary dessert, tiramisu, that was one of the best I have ever had. Our waiter was amazing. Can't spell his name.

Small cozy restaurant, and you could actually talk to the person at your table without having to shout. Attentive service, good food, and perfect sized portions.
