So you ask why Wanda Byob? Wanda Pollyana Boos/Lipot was my Mother and my inspiration to become a Chef. Wanda was an amazing cook who actually had some serious training in her country of Trinidad and Tobago. In fact, one of my most prized mementos is my mother's... her cooking manual from Naparima Girls High School in Trinidad. What started as my mother's inspiration many years ago has turned into a career that I love and am very proud of. So here I am, my mother's son, who has spent 38 years in the kitchen, perfecting my craft. I now want to share what I've learned with all of you in a place I can call my own.With the help of my wonderfully supportive wife, Gilda and my wonderful family behind me, I look forward to what's to come.     Third time my wife and I have been there - VERY noisy, but the small plates are outstanding with one exception - the octopus - still tastes very good but for the price paid, not much octopus and alot of greens. Otherwise the food is outstanding and the service is OK for the number of servers and the amount of guests. Upstairs where the band is playing is even louder - so we sit downstairs and talk loudly to hear each other. Nice place for an occasional dinner.

    Six of us went to Mabu for an early dinner before a show. Our server was attentive and provided good advice on the menu. Everyone had something different and all were delicious. We had t been there for awhile, but definitely will be back again.
