The Black Cat Café is owned and run by PALS, a nonprofit animal rescue organization. Although every dime we make goes directly to the 600 homeless animals we save every year, we also know that our café succeeds because it is an awesome place to eat. Styled around the cafes of the South of France, our menu is eclectic and ever changing with many vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options in addition to our regular menu. We have won Best of the Main Line 3 times. Chef Judy Clemens puts out a breakfast, lunch and brunch that cannot be beat and all profits go to saving lives. Hello, we are Sansom Kabob House. A local Afghan restaurant bringing authentic Afghan cuisine from the core of Afghanistan. We originally opened on October 2nd, 2002. We were on 1526 Sansom St. for 14 years and then moved to 1300 South St. We create gourmet Afghan food that you can find in Afghanistan or here at our Philadelphia location. We have mouthwatering flavors starting from our bread to our kabobs. Our bread's recipe and technique have been passed down from the founder's great-great-grandfather, who owned an array of bakeries and managed many restaurants in Kabul. Passed through generations to our chef, who brought delicious meals to 15th and Sansom of Philadelphia. Then from 15th and Sansom to 1300 South St. We have delectable food that you fall in love with and will bring comfort to you, from our meat lovers to our vegans. We do reservations, groups, take-out, delivery, catering, waiter service, and maintain a great family environment.

    On this return visit two of us had the same delicious combo, half an artichoke panini with a cup of cream of mushroom soup. The other person had a slice of quiche with an amazing strawberry salad, and we all had the excellent key lime pie for dessert. As a bonus, several cats were adopted while we were there!

    I was a bit skeptical since I’m predominantly a junk food vegan, but the shogun black maitake with upstate abundance mashed potatoes and tiger eye bean miso absolutely blew my mind. I almost ordered a second one.

    This was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. The dishes are so beautifully composed and presented. The service was impeccable and the staff was super knowledgable about all potential allergens and ingredients. Just perfection. It didn’t hurt that my favorite movies were playing on the big screen. The “crab” cakes and broccoli are must-have dishes.

    Excellent, interesting menu. Friendly, helpful service. Our only disappointment was our selected dessert being out of stock. Everything we tried was great.
