Ye Olde Punchbowl Inn is certainly Ye Olde, even by the standards of British country pubs. The building has been there for at least 700 years – nobody knows exactly how long it has stood on what is now Ludlow Road – and has been a pub since 1740, serving the traveller, the public of Bridgnorth and all others who entered their doors. The menu now is classically British, with a full AGA carvery, a gastro menu and a full wine list that takes in the best of local ingredients. Overlooking the historic Ludford bridge, just a few minutes walk from the town centre of Ludlow, the Charlton Arms is the epitome of a charming Pub. The kitchen, headed up by Krizstian Balogh, focusses on great British food and features a wealth of local produce. Fantastic pub classics feature strongly alongside accomplished dishes. Real Ales and local Ciders sit proudly amidst the eclectic selection of wines to suit every budget. To make the most of a visit to the Charlton, there are nine comfortable en-suite bedrooms. The breakfast menu, from Clun Valley Eggs, locally cured bacon and Ludlows' famed sausages to the finest smoked salmon has something for everyone. Leonard Wilfred Davies, born 19 December 1906, started a butcher's dynasty now four generations old. His butchers typical cheeky sense of humour now lives on through his grandchildren along with his knowledge of butchery.

In 1997 Leonard’s grandson Richard opened The Station Inn, which quickly generated a great reputation for quality steak.
