Service was outstanding and they recognized our anniversary. Prices are a bit high, but portions are large and they include a salad and side. We were sold on the grilled calamari and I think we would have enjoyed the fried calamari more. We will definitely return.

I loved EJ’s. I was looking for some local color on a quick business trip to a laboratory in Skokie. EJ’s was definitely that. It has a very old school super club vibe with a dark knotty pine interior and lots of locals. The ambience is great if you have a taste for knickknacks, which I do. The menu is simple and portions are large. I had the veal chop which was great. The fried calamari was perfect, but the cream spinach I’m sure is an acquired taste, but I thought it was horrible. The coconut cream pie was adequate. The service was attentive without being overbearing.

We are local to the restaurant our food the first time at the restaurant was good and cooked well. This last visit, just didn't live up to it. Our server got the order wrong my meal was over cooked and dry. My kids pasta was wrong on 2-3 plates. My cocktail was not very well made just lacking in my opinion. Because we are local and our first visit was good, we will give it another go and hopefully it will be a better experience. Its got a great Northwoods vibe with a nice fireplace and good ambiance.
