Fang is the sister restaurant of wildly popular restaurant, House of Nanking. Fang embodies both modern and authentic Chinese cuisines in a fine dining setting serving traditional Chinese fare, dim sum, as well as "off the menu" innovative dishes for the adventurous. Chef Peter Fang believes that good-tasting food is universal and should not be bound by how dishes were made in the past. We have dined at Fang twice and each time was a culinary experience that makes us want to return again! The flavors are amazing, each sending tastebuds into orbit. Portions are more than ample, and all presented beautifully. Peter Fang is the added bonus. He not only watches over his restaurant but takes the time to come over and watches over our order to be sure we are more than happy…and we were! My husband and I look forward to the next time we are in SF and dining at Fangs again.

We were a party of 10 and Chef Fang greeted us, asked about dietary restrictions and took our menus away! What landed on the table for the next hour was 10 courses for us to share. It was delicious!

Owner recommended the pre fixe menu and it was 5-courses of a taste explosion. Hands down the best Chinese food I’ve ever tasted.

Always outstanding. Kathy and Peter are phenomenal. Leave the food choice to them. Never disappoints. Service has improved substantially. Can’t wait till the next visit.

Quite literally, one of the worst and definitely most disappointing restaurant experiences in my life. Most notably, the service was atrocious. from the moment we got there, we should have known. there was actually no one there to greet us at the front desk and no one who's job it is to check you in. we had a 645 reservation, arrived a few minutes late but no one spoke to us until 715 and finally sat us by 725. i can't believe we stayed but wanted to try the food which we thought would be great (despite the terrible service). i would say the food was both mediocre and certainly underwhelming. we ordered 4 things total and notably of those 4 things - the brocolli never made it to the table. not quite sure how a table can order 4 things and an easy to make vegetable never arrives. and finally, we had gone for the table side fried rice and were shocked. i'm not sure how chinese fried rice can be ruined so badly but it had a taste much closer to spanish style rice than chinese. mind baffling. what a massive disappointment and the lack of awareness by the restaurant in giving such a bad experience didn't help at all

Great food but when you have to constantly try and get someone’s attention to take your order, bring your drinks and bring you the bill, it doesn’t make for a great overall experience! A smile and a friendly face and greeting would be nice too. We probably won’t return.
