Opened in 2012, Farmstead Table blends French technique and new world innovation in a classic American country kitchen. Inspired by local farmers, our culinary team believes that fresh and pure ingredients don’t require much tinkering and should speak for themselves. Great bartender, very good food. I had the pork chop which was perfect. My husband's seafood risotto could have used more seafood for the money. Otherwise, we like the place a lot.

An excellent small restaurant in Newton Center. Staff provides a warm welcome and great service. Whether you go for lunch or dinner, wine and food are superb. Try their fall/winter mushroom board with four innovative takes on familiar recipes. We will return!

Wonderful, as always. Mushroom Board is a unique offering. We had the salmon, cod, and risotto and all were delicious. Our Newton favorite.

This is a neighborhood restaurant for us that I’ve been to a number of times. Their menu is small, but their food is really delicious. They have a choice for vegetarian vegans, which is important for us, they have mocktails also important and a zero beer and their menu changes frequently. The restaurant is not large, but the tables are spread quite far apart, which is more than the normal. In the summertime they have an outside patio, which is also a lovely feature. It is close to the T I can walk from my condo, and I will continue to go there

A very small restaurant with tiny bar if you need to wait while your table is not ready, which ours was not. We had a group of six and had a 7:30 but did sit until after 8. They nicely comped us a drink. The right move. However after finally being seated we had no service for another half an hour. At least bring over some bread? We finally asked for bread and for someone to take the order. Maybe they thought we were good sitting for so long without any service/food because we’d had a drink? After ordering again the very long wait for the food. It seemed something was going on as the restaurant is small and at this point was mostly empty. The food was tasty and fairly priced. Felt like the meals had been sitting under a hot lamp for a little before being delivered to the table. The energy at this restaurant was so off …no one smiled, antiquated decor and we felt as if there was a sort of Amish presence. No offense whatsoever to anything Amish but in Newton center just not what we expected. Honestly if the service was done with a smile or an explanation or apology as to why everything took so long etc maybe would have overlooked the otherwise oddness about this place. Would not go back.
