The beef cheeks were tender and slightly caramelised and accompanied by a potato puree and baby roasted carrots. The bourguignon sauce was sumptuous. Delicious comfort food in every sense of the word. The cassoulet was also a winner, a crispy, succulent duck leg on a bed of tender haricot beans flavoured with ham, pork sausage and thyme. We enjoyed the tasty garden salad and French fries with this. Both courses were very generous. Two of my friends couldn't eat it all. \nMy piece de resistance was the colourful and delicately constructed dessert. Pistachio flavoured custard was sandwiched between puff pastry slices with raspberries. Gorgeous to look at, easy to eat and not overly sweet. The passionfruit souffle was also a triumph, warm and luscious.\nThe wine list was good, local and French wines were available. We drank a dry, creamy Fumey-Chatelain Cremant du Jura Blanc which was not sweet enough for one of my friends. This intimate dining space has been designed to elevate neighbourhood high-end casual dining, transporting you in time and place. We have 3 distinct dining areas available, a hotel-esq bar with deep stools which will allow you to oversee Chef Scott Fox and his team cook for the restaurant whilst you can watch the hustle of the bar, with it's tall custom built cherry oak shelves, before you - we think this is our favourite spot. Alternatively, you may find yourself in our intimate bar booths wrapped in blue velvet and leather, these are very cosy and are best enjoyed with some of your best friends or family.
