A Family Tradition For Over 90 YearsMrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant first opened in 1934 with Mrs. Knott and her children serving the first customers in their tea room. The restaurant has grown over the years into one of the largest in California, but the classic fried chicken dinner is still made the same way today using Mrs. Knott's recipes. Every complete chicken dinner includes handmade biscuits, side salad, choice of cabbage or cherry rhubarb, three pieces of fried chicken, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. For dessert: your choice of boysenberry pie or boysenberry sherbet. Many other dishes are also available including grilled chicken, salads, and a number of appetizers. A full-service bar, serving signature boysenberry-infused cocktails, is also available.Currently, we are following all government-issued regulations and seating is currently outside only. My husband and I had breakfast at the Promenade cafe, this morning and it was great! Our waitress was Mary and she's very personable and knew exactly when to visit the table. We recommend the Granola with multi berries and Greek yogurt. View is relaxing and the era music takes your mind of the usual 100 plus items were thinking about. Thanks Queen Mary

The restaurant, ambiance, and service is GREAT. We truly enjoyed the whole afternoon. We ordered Mrs. Knotts Chicken meal and it did not disappoint. All the fixins and dessert to boot. The only thing is that the chicken was a bit overdone and not as juicy as we would have hoped. That was my only slight commentary.

It was our first time being here we been in the Whittier area for the last 25 years and love how they remodel this restaurant completely Love how our city those new updates! Definitely will come back again!
