Gloria Gati is the new restaurant of chef George Papakostas who jokingly refers to Gloria as the older sister of Vittoria Gati, another famous restaurant of his in Glyfada. Gloria is located in a historic building in the Athens center just 50 meters from Syntagma square. It is defined by an eclectic vintage design in a very cosy space where the pizza oven takes center stage. The bar serves award winning cocktails and over 100 wines from Greece and around the globe. The menu is Italian with a focus on homemade pasta and quality meats. The pizza is made from a 1937 sourdough and baked in a traditional oven imported from Naples. Some of the signature dishes include the steak tartare, arancini bolognese, the raviolo cacio pepe, the reginette al tartufo for truffle lovers as well as pollo francese and the ossobuco which is cooked for 12 hours. A tiramisu is a must here accompanied by a single estate espresso. Outside seating is available all year round in the courtyard of St George church

Mrs. Maria and their two sons along with the executive chef create authentic recipes from all over Greece, like grape leaves, the famous lamb "kleftiko", cheese pie with honey & Greek kebab “Sheftalia”. There are also some unique dishes which you can hardly find elsewhere, such as ravioli stuffed with beef & spices with red pepper & yoghurt-mint sauce, slow-cooked goat with pappardelle pasta, Cretan macaroni "skioufichta" and the caramelized octopus

Very delicious food! Specifically, the mussels were very tasty, the meat was incredible, and finally, the chocolate soufflé was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Beautiful views and great food. Wish the view from the seating wasn’t obscured by the tree fence. If not, wonderful vibes.
