In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. This is the best restaurant in Long Island and quite possibly the best diner we have ever been to. The staff are impeccably trained, gracious, helpful, and just lovely people. The food is amazing! Everything from their salads, to their sliders or chicken and waffles, everything on the menu is delicious. We come here often and love it! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

We had a great evening at Chef’s Table. The food was delicious and everyone at the table was pleased. We shared the fried zucchini appetizer which was addictive!The pappardelle with short rib ragu, seafood risotto, and linguini with white clam sauce were all perfect. We will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful experience at dinner. They had a special offered on Tuesday nights which was just delicious and plentiful and was an amazing price point! A neighborhood gem. I’ll be back.
